Skate parks in Barwon Heads, Ocean Grove, Portarlington, Clifton Springs, Point Lonsdale and St Leonards will keep the older kids entertained for hours.
Two playgrounds in Barwon Heads will delight the smaller ones. The Pirate Park on Sheepwash Road has heaps of equipment to play on and plenty of shade. Frank Ellis Reserve playground on the foreshore near the bridge has the added bonus of being right beside the beach and there’s toilet and barbecue facilities.
Point Lonsdale Foreshore Reserve playground is well suited to younger children. Take a picnic or have a barbecue under cover.
Of course there’s always the beach and it’s free! 13th Beach, Ocean Grove Main Beach and Point Lonsdale are patrolled by surf lifesaving volunteers.
Take the kids to Ocean Grove Nature Reserve and see if they can spot wallabies, echidnas, lizards and plenty of birds.
Adventure Park is a massive water theme park located in Wallington and there’s minigolf nearby or you can go berry picking at Tuckerberry Hill in Drysdale.
Your kids will love trying to navigate their way out of one of Australia’s largest timber mazes at Amaze ‘n Games in Wallington.
